Now alone after beating up his teammates for failing to defeat Team Japan in the last tournament, Iori is meditating in an abandoned temple when he is approached by the mysterious ladies Mature and Vice, Rugal's former secretaries. The two women ask Iori to join KOF in the hopes of finally killing his greatest enemy, Kyo Kusanagi. Iori agrees, but when they have left, he blatantly mentions that they are both up to something and that he already knows that they have Orochi blood. Together, the three form Team Yagami.

(Agora sozinho depois de espancar seus companheiros de equipe por não terem derrotado o Time do Japão no último torneio, Iori estava meditando em um templo abandonado, quando é abordado pelas misteriosas senhoras Mature e Vice, as antigas secretárias de Rugal. As duas mulheres pedem a Iori para se juntar ao KOF na esperança de finalmente matar seu maior inimigo, Kyo Kusanagi. Iori concorda, mas quando elas tinham ido embora, menciona descaradamente que ambas estão tramando algo e já sabe que elas tem sangue de Orochi. Juntos, os Três formam o Time Yagami.)
