The new Landlord, Ariel Sultan and Urov Family LLC had their agent, Craig Sultan, the father of Ariel, wrote to me 5 times to hint me that I should move to somewhere else. On Oct. 30, 2014, Craig Sultan used force to remove the kitchen door, without a permit. He claimed that he had the permit to remove the backstairs from the 3rd floor to 2nd floor and the landing and thus it included to remove my kitchen door and wall it up. He showed me a plan that he said that was stamped by DBI. On it, the existing door was drawn as a window, not a wall. When questioned, he told me that was optional. I was panic to think about losing my the main source of the cross ventilation and so I didn't asked him why a plan stamped and submitted to DBI could be optional. Later DBI issued a Notice of Violation, stating Craig Sultan's statement was false.
There is a ALL WORK STOP check mark on the NOV. But no use, Craig Sultan continued to had the contractor to demolish and remodel the storage room on the ground floor and the unit 1 on the 2nd floor.
Craig Sultan sent electrician, a company based in San Francisco, to come to my unit to tell me that they needed to pull wire from the 2nd floor to the 3rd floor.
Previously Craig Sultan said that he couldn't find anyone to hire to work at 180 Carl.
Ariel Sultan arrived on Nov. 30, 2014 to view the cleared and cleaned unit, but she refused to tell me what items that she thought I needed to pay for the repair.
After some back and forth communication through her father, she agreed to tell me that problems she had seen and so I got a chance to report that the problems she noted down were the problems existed prior my move-in in Mar. 2009.
She told me that she noticed the floor was not level and had indented zones. So I got a chance to tell her that was the constructor she hired in June 2014 did the careless job.
We'll see what excuses the Landlord is coming up to ding my deposit.
A friend who was in contractor field over 30 years told me that he had never seen a unit that was kept so well, another friend with a 25 years friendship with my domestic partner is 'kicked out' by his landlord, asked me who I hired to clean the unit, since he helped me to move out and sew the unit was Tide commercial graded clean.
The unit has so many wrong places to begin with, the windows even didn't open, the microwave was not working, everything was rusty and malfunction. Some of the power plugs were not working, the heaters smelled like hell, but I didn't care, I chose to stay and set up the air circulation to flow out all the disgusting pathogens embedded in the building, including my unit. Now that they did the last straw, cut off my main ventilation, in additional to stripping my access to washing machine/drying machine in the building, I had to turn over the notice of vacate. Ariel Sultan is going to do her business there with the asbestos powder floated building. They can invite their own sickness as they want to, I just have to protect myself from mean Landlord. All other units had told Craig Sultan to clean up the building, including a lien placed by SF department of public health. Craig Sultan still is fully capable let the common area stays filthy. I suppose that is the way for rich people to get money -- exploiting the benefits from their tenants, employees, environment, etc... to be continued....
