The Corvette Racing #63 Corvette C6.R, driven by Johnny O'Connell, Jan Magnussen and Antonio Garcia, won the GT1 class of the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2009. O'Connell became the only American to win Le Mans four times.The Corvette Racing team was founded in 1999 to participate in major endurance events. In 2009, the Corvette Racing team withdrew its cars from the 24 Hours of Le Mans to focus on its new GT2 program.
