The Wildcats grabbed control from the opening minutes, created some breathing room heading into halftime and then uncorked a familiar storm of scoring on Natchitoches Central and blazed to an 89-63 victory in the Class 5A State Tournament semifinals at Burton Coliseum.

No. 4 seed Walker (32-4) will collide with No. 3 seed Landry-Walker (25-6) in the title game at 8 p.m. Saturday.

The senior-laden Wildcats were at their diverse and deep best against the Chiefs (31-4), with Jalen Perkins and Darius Hampton as the ringleader on as dominant a night as Walker could’ve imagined.

Perkins scored 24 points and blocked 5 shots, while Hampton added 21 and helped the Cats clamp down on NCHS star Brian White
