"Tanks All Around" Steam & Diesel Gala 2025

This year's theme was 'Tanks All Round' with visiting locomotives Spirit of Adventure and Mr Hallworth from Perrygrove Railway and Mark Timothy from Bure Valley Railway.

Spirit of Adventure was built in 1994 by Exmoor Steam Railway in Bratton Fleming, she was ordered for the opening of the Perrygrove Railway in 1996. She was Perrygrove's first steam engine and pulled all the trains for the first 10 years on her own.

Mr Hallworth was built up in Darlington by North Bay Engineering. Mr Hallworth arrived at Perrygrove in December 2023.

Mark Timothy was originally built as a County Donegal outline by Winson Engineering in 1999 for the Bure Valley Railway, and was subsequently sent to Alan Keef Limited and rebuilt with a Leek and Manifold outline and returned to the railway in 2003. The locomotive is named Mark Timothy in memory of the owners son who sadly passed away at a young age.

From the home fleet the ever popular Fairbourne Railway pairing of the Ernest Twining design, Guest Engineering built, Katie and Sian , joined Badger and Hawk completing the steam line. A 30 minute interval service was ran between Clayton West and Shelley, with shuttles to Skelmanthorpe running between the full line trains.
