Historian Dr Michael Scott embarks on an adventure to explore the hidden treasures of Italy's astonishing cities, bringing a fascinating new insight into 2,000 years of history.

Whilst visiting Florence Cathedral, Dr Scott explores the beauty and complexity of the pioneering engineering behind the world's biggest brick dome. This was such a bold feat of ingenuity by architect Filippo Brunelleschi, which was seen at the time as achieving the impossible, that it came to defined the architecture of the Renaissance.
