Attic Access D-I-Y New Roof Hatch in a Old House

Описание к видео Attic Access D-I-Y New Roof Hatch in a Old House

This video is a how-to account of how I installed this attic access roof hatch on my roof.
I needed to get up in the attic to install a new ductless heat pump, and solar light tube along with upgrading the insulation.

I have natural wood cathedral ceilings and there was no good place to install an access hatch inside of my house.

The new attic roof hatch was the best option for my situation.

I hope all you do-it-yourselfers that watch this video get some enjoyment and maybe you might pick up a couple tricks along the way.

Good luck with your nest project.
Uncle Gary

Hi, I want to give you a little information about myself, Uncle Gary.

I am a true Jack-of-all-trades in building, remodeling, gardening, and homesteading.

At an early age, before high school graduation, there wasn’t much that I didn’t try, just to see if I could.

I would catch trout out of the streams around my home and cook them over an open fire, on a stick,

In the same streams were areas with a crayfish population, which looked like mini lobsters, and tasted good boiled with some butter.

Some more out-of-the-ordinary things that my buddy Vern and I did were:

Melt aluminum
Make a still (and blow it up)
Make fireworks
Build numerous tree forts and even dug a tunnel fort
Make snare traps
Building go-carts
Raising pumpkins and chickens
Riding cows and horses

At the age of 14, I helped my father build a house in Washington State (wood frame)
At the age of 16, we built 2 barns, one for livestock and a machinery storage barn
At the age of 18, I helped my father build a house in Florida (masonry)

Then at the age of 22, my father and I cut the logs and had them milled so we could build my house in 1984

Former owner of a home remodeling, decorative concrete and insulation / energy efficiency company, with a 3 man crew

Residental Landlord for over 33 years

Certifications include:
State of New York Code Enforcement Official
Building Performance Institute, Envelope Professional, and Building Analyst Professional
Certificate of Completion for Energy Auditor and RESNET HERS Rater
Certificate of Completion for Solar Hot Water Training and PV System Design & Installation

I haven’t stopped building, remodeling, or trying new things

I hope you enjoy these videos and realize that building and remodeling projects are not as hard as you might think

Good luck with your next project
Uncle Gary
