Drum Smoker Temperature Control | How To Easily Control Temperature On Your Drum Smoker

This video is all about drum smoker temperature control! I've had quite a few people ask and I see comments quite frequently online about people having issues controlling the temperature on their drum smoker so I figured i'd show you some easy tips to make your drum smoking experience a little easier! Right off the bat I did have about 40mph winds throughout the video so I do apologize about the audio in some parts but I pretty much live in farm land so there isn't much to block the wind in my area lol.

One thing I failed to mention is that IMO it is easier to control your temperature in your drum if you use briquettes. So if you're new to drum smoking and want it to be a little bit easier you can go ahead and buy some briquettes. Another route you can go is buying a thermostatic controller for your drum and use that to regulate you temperature. I do own a cyber q cloud but haven't used it in years because I go tired of relying on it. My hope is that this video helps you all out a little bit. And remember this is just the way that I control my drum smoker. I know of quite a few people that adjust the chimney throughout the cook as well as the intakes and have great success with doing that....but BBQ is highly subjective and I like my chimney wide open.
