Cleveland area weather forecast: Heating up for the first of fall

Your 7:30 a.m. Greater Cleveland and Northeast Ohio weather forecast for September 22, 2024:

The calendar might read 'Fall Begins' but mother nature has a different plan for Sunday. In fact Sunday afternoon could be the warmest all month. We will bring in the autumn season officially at 8:43 AM. Meanwhile, the mercury will make a run towards the mid-to-upper 80s by the afternoon.

Sunday will be a toasty one for sure but dry with clouds increasing after midday. Those clouds will eventually produce our next rain chance.

Latest model runs are consistent with showers arriving before midnight Sunday night into predawn Monday. Your Monday morning drive is trending drier. However, another round of showers and storms will be on the way Tuesday. The damp weather will linger into Wednesday.
