Baby Dhoti jumpsuit cutting and stitching | DIY Trendy Baby Dhoti jumpsuit cutting and stitching

Hey everyone, welcome back to my channel! Today, I’m going to show you how to make a trendy baby dhoti jumpsuit. It's super cute and perfect for any special occasion. Let’s get started!

*[Materials Needed]*
Soft cotton fabric
Measuring tape
Scissors
Sewing machine
Elastic band
Pins
Chalk or fabric marker

*[Step 1: Measurements]*
First, measure your baby’s waist, hips, and the length from waist to ankle. Note these down.

*[Step 2: Cutting the Fabric]*
1. Cut a rectangular piece of fabric for the dhoti part. The width should be twice the waist measurement and the length should be from waist to ankle plus a few inches for hemming.
2. Cut another piece for the top part of the jumpsuit. This should be a rectangle with the width equal to the waist measurement and the length from waist to shoulders.

*[Step 3: Creating the Pleats]*
1. Lay the dhoti fabric flat.
2. Use chalk to mark the center.
3. Starting from the center, create pleats by folding the fabric over itself, pinning each pleat as you go. Make sure the pleats are evenly spaced and facing the same direction.

**[Step 4: Sewing the Pleats**]
1. Sew along the top edge of the pleated fabric to secure the pleats in place.

**[Step 5: Attaching the Top and Bottom**]
1. Take the top piece and sew the side seams to form a tube.
2. Attach the pleated dhoti piece to the top piece by sewing along the waistline. Make sure the pleats are evenly distributed.

**[Step 6: Adding Elastic**]
1. Fold the top edge of the jumpsuit over to create a casing for the elastic. Sew along the edge, leaving a small opening.
2. Insert the elastic band through the casing using a safety pin. Sew the ends of the elastic together and close the opening.

**[Step 7: Hemming**]
1. Hem the bottom of the dhoti to the desired length.
2. Hem the armholes and neckline for a neat finish.

*[Step 8: Final Touches]*
1. Add any embellishments or decorations you like, such as buttons or bows.
