Short sales aren’t as simple as they look. 🕰️ When a seller owes more than the home’s value, the bank must approve the sale — and that can take 2 to 12 months. Buyers also aren’t guaranteed a deal, since the bank may prefer foreclosure. Before showing a short sale, ask the key questions: Is the sale approved? Has the agent spoken to the lender? Is there mortgage insurance? Does the agent understand short sales? And is there real hardship? Those answers show whether the deal is even worth pursuing.
