This is the first part of a presentation made by Jad El-Khoury on "Linked Data and OSLC for Tool Interoperability”.

This part covers a brief overview of the OSLC approach (Open Services for Lifecycle Collaboration), and a detailed presentation of Linked Data and RDF (Resource Description Framework).

The presentation has been recorded on the 4th of November 2015, and was part of a workshop co-organized by KTH, ICES and the project CP-SETIS at the 2015 Embedded Conference Scandinavia in Sweden.

The purpose of this workshop was twofold:
(1) To learn the foundations of Linked Data and the OSLC open standard, and how their principles and technologies are applied for integrating engineering tools.
(2) To develop OSLC-compliant tool adaptors, based on the OSLC4J (Java-based) toolkit, and to introduce code generators implemented by KTH for streamlining the process of developing these adaptors (video also available here).
