আশির দশকের জনপ্রিয় তরুণ কণ্ঠশিল্পী জুয়েল—তাঁর নাম উচ্চারিত হলে এখনো অনেকের হৃদয়ে বাজে একরাশ আবেগ। গায়ক, সুরকার ও গীতিকার হিসেবে তিনি খুব অল্প সময়ের মধ্যেই জয় করে নিয়েছিলেন শ্রোতাদের মন। অত্যন্ত ফ্যাশনএবল সুদর্শন চেহারা, অনবদ্য গায়কি আর আবেগঘন সুরে জুয়েল ছিলেন সেই সময়কার তরুণ-তরুণীদের স্বপ্নপুরুষ। বিশেষ করে তরুণী ভক্তরা তাঁর জন্য ছিলেন যেন দিওয়ানা।জুয়েল এর জন্ম ১৯৬৪ সালে ২৩ জানুয়ারি ঢাকার হলিফ্যামিলি হাসপাতালে। বাড়ী বগুড়ায়। পুরো নাম জাহিদুল ইসলাম জুয়েল।এত সফলতা পেয়েও দুর্ভাগ্যজনকভাবে, মাত্র ২১ ছুঁই ছুঁই বয়সে, ১৯৮৬ সালের ১৪ জানুয়ারি চির বিদায় নেন এই পৃথিবী থেকে। তাঁর আকস্মিক মৃত্যুতে স্তব্ধ হয়ে যায় পুরো সংগীত জগৎ।

Especially for young female fans, he was like a madman for them. Jewel was born on January 23, 1964, in Holy Family Hospital, Dhaka.Home in Bogura. Full name Jahidul Islam Jewel. Despite achieving so much success, unfortunately, at the tender age of 21, he bid farewell to this world on January 14, 1986. His sudden death left the entire music world in shock.
