Описание к видео Current Events Panel: A Threat to Democracy? Right-Wing Populism in Europe

The Nanovic Institute for European Studies and the Kellogg Institute for International Studies will present a panel discussion of the rise of right-wing populism in Europe today.

Following the Brexit referendum, the collapse of the Renzi government in Italy, and recent poll numbers and events in Germany, participants from a range of disciplines at Notre Dame will gather in Hesburgh Auditorium to reflect on the extent to which right-wing parties present a threat to European democracy.

The panel will be moderated by Paolo G. Carozza (Professor of Law and Director, Kellogg Institute for International Studies) and feature analyses by A. James McAdams (William M. Scholl Professor of International Affairs and Director, Nanovic Institute for European Studies ), Michel Hockx (Professor of Chinese Literature and Culture and Director, Liu Institute for Asia and Asian Studies ), Olivier Morel (Assistant Professor, Romance Languages and Literatures and Film, Television, and Theatre; and Associate Director, PhD in Literature ), and Lucia Manzi (Kellogg Doctoral Student Affiliate, Political Science).
