Akai Miniak sounds demonstration

The factory presets of the Akai Miniak are not really that inspiring. You would be forgiven for thinking that this is not an interesting synth at all. Which is what I thought for a long time...

...and then, because I was going to sell it on ebay, I thought I'd get it off its shelf and check it worked ok. I started tweaking a few presets and mapping the controls onto different modulation parameters and wow. It should be called the Akai Maniac!

All the sounds in this recording are made by the Miniak with no added effects. None of these sounds are the bare factory presets but none of them are built from scratch either. They're all minor tweaks. There's a bit of gratuitous vocoding in there too.
