The theory is that we are following high institutional order flow and market imbalance. The open comes from good order flow/money flow - orders coming in and its a complete supply/demand imbalance causing a drive or extension in one direction.

The Open
Traders love or hate it - for me I love the open as I like to see supply-demand imbalance as it provides me with trading opportunities. We are here mainly looking for continuation of the move.
Most opens are calm and quiet - you have spells of activity so you have to be careful that you're not getting involved in something that is perceived aggressive but is not...
We are looking for the unusual as that presents opportunity.
We are looking Institutional order flow / trapped traders in positions / reprice scenarios (something that comes up that potentially re-values market scenarios whether this is a commodity or index whatsoever).

If we perceive that there is momentum there but there is no such momentum then the chop is going to kill us. We have four steps

1) Identify - spotting them in indices - identify that there is potentially an opening drive coming up.
2) Locate - where do we want to get involved in the trade?
3) Execute - where are we going to pull the trigger - what are our risk parameters going to be?
4) Probabilities - what are the chances of the opening drive continuing?

Gap - how large is the gap - where is its position? Look at the previous days' action - what caused it?
