The Institute for Computational Design and Construction (ICD) at the University of Stuttgart has established itself as one of the leaders in computational design and fabrication, under the directorship of Professor Achim Menges, one of the most respected figures in the field worldwide. Their experimental pavilions, in particular, have captured the imagination for their daring audacity in pushing material behaviors and fabrication techniques to the limit. This session looking at the doctoral research being undertaken at ICD Stuttgart is the first in a series of sessions taking an inside look at the doctoral research being undertaken at top institutions in the world.
