Originally, this building featured a 1975 Giesa elevator, one of those classics with red doors and a circular porthole window. While the control panels were modernized with capacitive buttons back in the 90s, the entire system was replaced in 2023 by a state-of-the-art Schindler 3300 MRL.
One curious detail is that the elevator doesn't reach the eighth floor. Unlike other buildings where the rooftop houses storage units—making elevator access essential—the top floor here only contains the old machine room and the terrace itself. Extending the shaft would have sent costs skyrocketing without adding any real value, especially since the general consensus is that the block has seven floors, not eight. Additionally, the project was used as an opportunity for a full lobby renovation, bringing the elevator down to "ground level" (cota 0) and removing all architectural barriers from the street.
Built in 1975, the building follows the classic H-shaped design typical of that decade. It’s a highly functional layout: the apartments occupy the ends of the structure, while the central core of the "H" houses the stairs and the elevator. The side recesses form interior courtyards, with the unique feature that one of these spaces on the ground floor is used for the main entrance.
This design wasn't just easy to build; it was incredibly smart for its time. By having two courtyards, each landing fits four apartments with dual orientation, ensuring that every unit is both "interior" and "exterior" simultaneously. While one courtyard serves as the entrance on the ground floor, the other usually connects to a bajera (ground-floor unit) intended for commercial use or storage.

Originalmente, este edificio contaba con un ascensor Giesa de 1975, de esos míticos con puertas rojas y ventanilla circular. En los años 90 se modernizaron las botoneras por unas de tipo capacitivo, pero en 2023 el sistema fue sustituido por un Schindler 3300 MRL del 2023.
Un detalle curioso es que el ascensor no se ha extendido hasta la octava planta. A diferencia de otros edificios donde la azotea tiene trasteros y tiene sentido que llegue el elevador, aquí arriba solo estaba la sala de máquinas y la propia terraza. Prolongar el recorrido habría disparado los costes sin aportar una utilidad real, sobre todo cuando la percepción general es que el bloque tiene siete plantas, no ocho. Además, se aprovechó la obra para hacer una reforma integral del portal y bajar el ascensor a cota 0, eliminando cualquier barrera desde la calle.
El edificio, construido en 1975, sigue el clásico diseño setentero en forma de H. Es una solución muy funcional: las viviendas ocupan los extremos de la estructura, mientras que el núcleo central de la "H" alberga las escaleras y el ascensor. Los huecos laterales forman patios interiores, con la particularidad de que en la planta baja uno de ellos se aprovecha para situar el portal.
Este diseño no solo era sencillo de construir, sino muy inteligente para la época. Al tener dos patios, cada rellano permite cuatro viviendas con doble orientación, logrando que todos los pisos sean exteriores e interiores a la vez. Mientras uno de los patios sirve en la planta baja de acceso, el otro suele conectarse en la planta baja con una bajera destinada a locales comerciales o almacenes.
