Farsi Puri Recipe, Crispy deep Fried Traditional Gujarati Snack
Can be enjoyed on their own or with some pickles. Made in our Indian Kitchen here in the UK

Recipe to make approx 115
Ingredients:
• 1.5kg Plain Flour
• 2 tbsp Sesame Seeds
• 1 tbsp Ground Black Pepper
• 1 tbsp Cumin Seeds (Jeera)
• 1.5 tbsp Salt
• 250g Pack of Salted Butter (Melted)
• 2.5 Cups Warm Water (add more or less depending on dough stiffness)
• Sunflower or Vegetable Oil for Deep Frying

Method:
Mix all the dry ingredients in a large bowl, then pour in the melted butter.
Mix / bind the ingredients by hand for approx 2 minutes.
Gradually add the warm water and knead the dough gently for approx 8-10 minutes.
Once ready, cover and allow to rest for 10 minutes.
Take some dough and create small sized balls, roll out thinly (approx 9cm diameter)
Using a knife, create small cuts (This avoid the Puris expanding while frying and keeps them crispy.
When oil is hot and ready, deep fry in small batches over a medium heat, turning occasionally.
Fry gently until golden brown (approx 7-8 minutes)
Strain and Remove

Once cooled store in an air tight container.
Can be served once cooled with mango chutney or on their own.
