Selena Gomez is over the moon for her best friend Taylor Swift.
On Wednesday, the Only Murders in the Building star reposted Swift and Travis Kelce’s viral engagement announcement to her Instagram Stories, writing, “When bestie gets engaged 💕” with Queen’s “You’re My Best Friend” playing in the background.
Gomez also resurfaced a 2009 tweet Swift once sent her, reflecting on love: “Real love still happens sometimes. It’s not just something we make up when we’re nine. I have to believe that. You do too.” She paired the message with photos from both of their engagement announcements, tying together their longtime friendship.
Swift,, and Kelce,, announced their engagement Tuesday with a romantic garden proposal photo carousel, captioned: “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married 🧨.” The post instantly went viral.
The two besties have been inseparable since the late 2000s, when Gomez, now 33, dated Nick Jonas and Swift was linked to his brother Joe Jonas.
Meanwhile, Gomez got engaged to producer Benny Blanco in December 2024, showing off her marquise diamond ring with the caption, “Forever begins now.” Swift playfully commented on her post at the time, “Yes I will be the flower girl.”
