The arguments that nuclear power is too expensive and would take too long to install are "steadily being debunked", says Sky News host Peta Credlin.

“Ontario is the most important province of Canada, with about 15 million people, and its main city Toronto is about the same size as Sydney or Melbourne,” Ms Credlin said.

“A key difference though, between Ontario and, say, NSW or Victoria, is that Ontario has much cheaper power – it’s reliable and abundant, and it gets most of it, about 60 per cent, from nuclear energy.

She said as the Ontario Energy Minister Todd Smith told Sky News Business Editor Ross Greenwood on Sunday, "nuclear is the way to go".

“I'm sure the last thing the Ontario minister wants is to take sides in a political debate here in Australia – but what he said means that Labor's arguments against nuclear energy just do not stack up.”
