I've played lots of Bach solo cello music on the guitar. I recently took collection of a wonderful Mandola from Fylde Guitars. I bought it expressly for playing Bach Cello suites directly from the original scores. Same tuning as a cello, CGDA, though an octave higher. Here's an early take of the sarabande from cello suite 3. It's a work in progress. I'll be recording well practised versions of all six movements over a period of time. It's a new instrument and tuning to me and I'm reading the bass clef, which I'm not used to.
