A note from Anna:

“This is the project of every Christian who wants to see the Story of grace reach into the darkness and touch lost souls with a light they never thought possible. This is grace. This is redemption. This is His Story.

Our job is to tell it, to share it, and to make it known.

I wrote this because I wanted people to see Jesus the way I did, to know His gentle grace and furious love.

This is our chance to rise up as Storytellers. This is His Story.

Was the Word

Matthew:
In the beginning was the Word, it was a word from Him
Rewind the world spinning He said let the world spin
But first there was darkness, abyss, void and night
The first thing that He said was

The Father:
Let there be light

Matthew:
Light flooded the night like a match at its strike
Now despite of the night the light, it wouldn't back down

Miss Magdalene:
Back now to how the world was made.
Where were we? Oh yes. The second day.

Matthew:
He formed the Earth with His own two hands
Mountains and valleys at His very command

Peter:
Demanding a home to appear,
A glorious place where His own could draw near

The Son said

Jesus:
Father we’re still not finished
Let Us make man in Our own image

Peter:
Then out of dust man took his first breath
Then He raised us and gave us a choice, life or death

Choir:
But when the choice was given
darkness allured me with attraction
I walked straight into a prison
The door was locked at my distraction
I looked away, fell
and mercy responded with the promise of grace

The Father:
I'll bring you back to Myself
When the advocate takes your place

This is my beloved Son
He’ll conquer your keeper with surrender
Like a lover desperate for his love
He’ll fight to free her and defend her, yeah
I see you were compelled
Now yell loud with desperation
He'll take your place in the cell,
The hell of separation

Peter:
In the beginning was the Word
And the Word was with God
And the Word was sent
To save a sinning running friend He'd lost
To heal the broken hearted
And to make things right
To the darkness dawns a light

Matthew:
This isn't just a story of man coming to the light
And then putting their life in God’s hands

Matthew and Miss Magdalene:
No!
This is His story of a truth and a life

Miss Magdalene:
And the way that God came to man

Matthew:
He'd be giving up His glory, giving up up his throne
Doing what He's never done before
So that He could write me a story
And then give me a home

Choir:
And then show me that there's so much more

Jesus:
I am His beloved Son
I'll conquer your keeper with surrender
Like a lover desperate for his love
I’ll fight to free her, and defend her yeah
I see you were compelled
Now yell loud with desperation
I'll take your place in the cell
The hell of separation

Choir:
The walls between us they are floor bound
That's what He's got in store now
But for now our image has been torn down
So we have to wait
For the Advocate
To take our place

Matthew
In the beginning was the Word
And the Word made the world
But in the beginning of our story
It starts with a girl….
