Melbourne's Electric Suburban Trains // 103 Years of History!

Описание к видео Melbourne's Electric Suburban Trains // 103 Years of History!

Melbourne has a large suburban railway network, which is 1600mm/5'3" broad gauge, and electrified at 1500v DC using overhead wires. This video follows the timeline of the many different types of train used on the network since the wires went live in 1919. These trains are all Electric Multiple Units (EMUs) that have seen regular suburban passenger service - I am not covering electric locomotives or non-passenger vehicles in this video.

*Ride the preserved Tait set!!* Check Steamrail's upcoming tours page here: https://www.steamrail.com.au/tours
