The Blind Enthusiasm Brewing Company is a pioneering craft brewery located in Edmonton, Alberta, renowned for its commitment to traditional brewing techniques, scientific precision, and innovative fermentation methods.
Established in 2018 by Greg Zeschuk, co-founder of BioWare, the brewery has become a noteworthy member of Canada's craft beer scene and is particularly known for its spontaneous beers inspired by the Belgian Lambic tradition. At the heart of Blind Enthusiasm's operations is The Monolith, a purpose-built facility dedicated to producing spontaneous and mixed fermentation beers. Utilizing traditional methods such as turbid mashing, long boils with aged hops, and fermentation in a coolship, The Monolith houses over 400 puncheons (large barrels) actively fermenting, making it one of the largest spontaneous fermentation programs in North America.
The brewery's meticulous approach extends to ingredient selection and quality control; the brewery has a goal to shift to all-Canadian ingredients starting in Fall 2025. By combining time-honored techniques with modern technology and scientific methods, Blind Enthusiasm ensures each beer meets the highest technical and quality standards.
This dedication has earned them extensive international recognition, including a gold medal (Homage to the Old Ones) a bronze medal (Spontaneous Manifesto 2022) in the Belgian-style Sour category, and a silver medal in the Wood and Barrel-Aged Sour beers (Bière des Charentes) in the 2024 World Beer Cup. This was followed up by a silver medal at the 2025 World Beer Cup in the Belgian-style Sour category for Spontaneous Manifesto 2023. Blind Enthusiasm’s beers have also won eight gold medals in the Concours de Lyon since 2022.
Blind Enthusiasm's commitment to excellence and innovation has solidified its reputation as a leader in the craft beer industry, offering unique and world-class beers that reflect both tradition and creativity.
