note : tilde ' ~ ' is used to represent the home directory of user . Normally , the home directory is present inside /home/ directory . But , that's not compulsory . while creating user ,the home directory path can be changed also ;for ex - /tmp/xyz for user xyz ; In this case if xyz user is logged in then tilde will represent /tmp/xyz ( NOT /home/xyz )
