I tested this a couple of times and it seems that Prepared disables Surprise round.
Doesn't matter. Since it doesn't cost any Action/Bonus Action, we can use on first attack during Surprise Round.

I also wanted to use an Acid resistance pot vs. his Melfs Acid Arrow, but apparently resistance pots do not stack with Hill Giant Strength pot.
