In this video, I tackled Question 4 from the Pearson Edexcel Mechanics 1 (M1) May/June 2024 exam. This problem involved a non-uniform rod resting on a step with particles placed on it. We had to determine the minimum mass of the second particle to maintain equilibrium and calculate the force on the rod at a specific point when it was about to tilt. I employed the principles of moments and centre of mass to solve this challenging mechanics problem.
