Flex Feeding Robot Cell

The Proud Company's Flex Feeding Robot Cell uses a Graco flex feeder, a Mitsubishi robot, and a Cognex vision system to locate and sort parts.

In this demonstration, we're using 2 types of poker chips: ones with a picture of double dice, and ones with a picture of a horseshoe. The Graco flex feeder vibrates, moving the chips closer to the Mitsubishi robot. The Cognex vision system locates the chips and tells the robot where to place them based, depending on the picture on the chip. When there are no longer any chips within the robot's reach, the vision system signals the flex feeder to vibrate more chips toward the robot.
