Kalugala Gerandi Ella Waterfall, located in Kalugala within the Kandy district, is a stunning natural attraction that towers at an impressive height of 240 meters. Known for its unique resemblance to a slithering snake, the waterfall earned the name "Gerandi," meaning snake in Sinhala. The waterfall flows down in multiple segments, and the top four can be admired from the Mahiyangana Road. While breathtaking to view, hiking to Kalugala Gerandi Ella can be challenging due to its steep vertical drops.

How to Reach Kalugala Gerandi Ella Waterfall -

Starting from Kandy, take the Mahiyangana Road and head towards Mahiyangana. The waterfall is about 60 kilometers from Kandy, which takes roughly 1 hour and 49 minutes by car. Although the journey offers some scenic views, the challenging terrain surrounding the waterfall requires caution for hikers.
