穂高神社・奥宮は上高地、嶺宮は奥穂高山頂/ Hotaka Shrine - deity of the Japanese Alps

◆穂高見命をご祭神に仰ぐ穂高神社は長野県のほぼ真ん中、安曇野市穂高にあります。古くより日本アルプスの総鎮守、交通安全、産業安全の守り神として広く信仰されてきました。
奥宮は穂高連峰の麓の上高地に祀られており、嶺宮は北アルプスの主峰奥穂高岳に祀られています。境内にある嶺宮遥拝社は以前の嶺宮の建物が移築されていて、ここをお参りすることで、日本で三番目に高い奥穂高岳(標高3190メートル)山頂にある穂高神社嶺宮にお詣りしたことになります。
拝殿の奥にある本殿には、ご祭神である穂高見命や綿津見命、瓊瓊杵命、天照大御命などを祀った本殿があります。
また、境内には2本の御神木があり、「若宮西の欅」は樹齢500年以上、樹高18m。井上靖氏の小説『けやきの木』に登場します。「孝養杉」も樹齢500年以上。地元では親孝行の想いが込められた木として大切にされています。

Hotaka Shrine is located in Hotaka, Azumino City, almost in the middle of Nagano Prefecture.
This shrine has been worshipped since ancient times as a guardian deity of the Japanese Alps.
The Rear Shrine is enshrined in Kamikochi, and the Minemiya Shrine is enshrined in the main peak of the North Alps.
Minemiya of Hotaka Shrine, which is located at the top of Okuhodaka (3190 meters above sea level), the third highest mountain in Japan.
At the back of the hall of worship, you can see the main shrine dedicated to Hotakami-no-mikoto and Watatsumi-no-mikoto,
Japanese zelkova tree in the west of Wakamiya is over 500 years old, 18 meters tall.
The "filial piety cedar" is over 500 years old. The local people cherish this tree as a symbol of filial piety.
