The Tredegar Iron Works in Richmond, Virginia was the largest iron/manufacturing plant in the Confederacy during the #americancivilwar. It produced over 1,100 pieces of artillery for the Confederacy during the civil war. It also produced iron plating for the CSS Virginia (an Iron clad warship) and a railway siege gun called the Brooke Rifle". The Tredegar Iron Works is one of few Civil War-era buildings that survived the burning of Richmond in April of 1865.
