A multi-actor reading of Secret Seven on the Trail by Enid Blyton part of the Secret 7 series. It was dramatised by Edward Phillips.

Jack won't let his sister Susie join the Secret Seven, so she set's up a rival secret society of her own called the "Famous Five". A false trail is laid by the rival club to play a trick on the Secret Seven. But little do they know that this trail will lead the Seven to a railway yard on a foggy night and a real adventure.

I had this tape as a child and loved this telling of the story. It is abridged with a 44 minute running time, but maintains the tension and excitement without over-simplifying. These shorter dramatizations are ideal for 'reading' in a single sitting and are great for bedtime or car journeys especially with younger kids. Recorded with a multi-voice cast by Rainbow books (and later released by Tempo).

The Hodder audio dramatization version of this story is also uploaded    • Secret Seven on the Trail-Enid Blyton...

This is shared from a recording of a cassette tape, so lots of old-fashioned tape noises and hiss, but still very listenable and an enjoyable telling for childhood nostalgia or for a new generation of listeners that can make pictures in the mind.
