Flam Railway - The most beautiful train journey in the world?

I headed from Bergen to Flam via ferry along the spectacular Sognefjord encountering beautiful views, mountains, waterfalls and forests.

The destination was a small Norwegian village with a population of around 350 people. But why Flam? Well it is the starting point of the Flam Railway which heads up a mountain to Myrdal some 20km away.

It has been said that it is the most beautiful railway journey in the world, so I had to check it out for myself!
