Описание к видео Adaora Raji – we go where the grass is greener and the oceans are bluest

Adaora Raji reads "we go where the grass is greener and the oceans are bluest", one of her poems. Adaora gave the reading on 17 October 2024 at an online event hosted by Forced Migration and The Arts, CivicLeicester and Regularise as part of the Africa Migration Report Poetry Anthology Series.[1] "we go where the grass is greener and the oceans are bluest" is featured in "Japa Fire: An Anthology of Poems on African and African Diasporic Migration" (CivicLeicester, 2024)[2], the first collection in the series.

ABOUT THE POET

Adaora Raji is a content producer and scriptwriter. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Benin in Nigeria. Her short fiction stories have appeared in Fictionable, Lolwe, Arlington Literary Journal, Midnight and Indigo Literary Journal, the Coachella Review, the Bookends Review and as first runner-up in the 2022 Kendeka Prize for African Literature.

ABOUT THE POETRY ANTHOLOGY SERIES

The Africa Migration Report Poetry Anthology Series is a multi-year, multi-volume initiative that is publishing poetry anthologies exploring themes around African and African diasporic migration and (im)mobility. The series was inspired by the "Africa Migration Report: 2nd Edition" published by the African Union Commission and International Organisation for Migration in March 2024.[3]

Our call for submissions[4] is open 365 days a year, because every day is Africa Day, and because we would like to keep the conversation going for as long as it takes for the African migrant to be treated with dignity and respect on the continent and around the world.
