This is Part 3 of a three-part series documenting the Uttarey–Chewabhanjang trek in West Sikkim.
Filmed in May 2010, this final episode completes our three-part trek through western Sikkim, following the route from Uttarey toward Chewabhanjang Pass.

The day begins under blue skies with scattered clouds, offering calm conditions and wide views as we continue along open ridges and steep valleys. The walking feels steady and assured, shaped by days already spent in the mountains.

By afternoon, we set up our final campsite in high ground surrounded by open scenery. Overnight, the weather shifts, and we wake to hail covering the ground—a quiet reminder of how quickly conditions can change in the Himalayas.

The final morning is cloudy but dry, allowing us to complete the trek without difficulty. From the trail’s end, we return by jeep to the same guesthouse in Uttarey where the journey was arranged, closing the loop from planning to completion.

Rather than ending with spectacle, this episode focuses on completion, weather, and return—the natural rhythm of mountain travel, where success often means simply finishing the route and coming back safely.
