'k Wil U o God mijn dank betalen (Gezang 390)

This is my parents' song of life. While they're in the evening of their lives. They're looking back with gratitude. This arrangement is for them.

You see two older people who are enjoying life in the presence of a beautiful sunset. The sunset stands for the last period of their lives. The painting suggests their thankfulness to the simple but important things in life and also to the Creator who initiates the sunset. They're looking back with gratitude.

I did the music production and played soprano saxophone, low whistle, uilleann pipes and keys on this one.

1 'k Wil U, o God, mijn dank betalen,
U prijzen in mijn avond lied.
Het zonlicht moge nederdalen,
maar Gij, mijn licht, begeeft mij niet.
Gij woudt mij met uw gunst omringen,
meer dan een vader zorgdet Gij,
Gij, milde bron van zegeningen:
zulk een ontfermer waart Gij mij.

2 U trouwe zorg wou mij bewaren,
uw hand heeft mij gevoed, geleid;
Gij waart nabij in mijn bezwaren,
