Obituary for Pamela Anne Claridge (from the Dods & McNair website):

Pamela Anne Claridge, O.N. (nee Paver)
January 1, 1944 – May 9, 2024

Surrounded by love, Pamela passed away peacefully at Headwaters Health Care Centre on Thursday, May 9, 2024. Born on New Year’s Day 1944 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and raised in Victoria, British Columbia, Pam was the elder daughter of Edward Alan and Iris Elizabeth Paver. A beautifully talented singer, she met her future husband while performing and started on her seven decade journey with Thomas Macdonald Claridge. Married August 28, 1965, the newspaper business called the couple back to Ontario, originally settling in Toronto, and ultimately moving to Dufferin County in 1975.
Pam and Tom have three children: Alan (Vanessa), Nancy, and Christopher (Liisa), and four grandchildren: Jacob, Ella, Owen and Maija. She will be greatly missed by the extended family: Phil (Val), John (Cheryl), Fred (Unni), Mary (Peter), Heather (Rob), Julie (Lance), Julie (Aanson), Heather (Derek), Jenn (Paul), and the great-nieces and great-nephews.
It is impossible to list all of the activities Pam was involved in through her life. She was a professional singer in Toronto before turning her focus for many decades to the family newspapers, publishing the Orangeville Citizen, Shelburne Free Press and Economist, Grand Valley Star-Vidette and the Caledon Citizen. It was a running joke how she managed to outlast her male counterparts at the competition. But music was never left behind, with Pam teaching voice and piano, as well as being the organist and choir master at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Shelburne, and later St. Mark’s Anglican Church, Orangeville, as well as organizing music programs in seniors homes for over 40 years. Pam was a licensed lay reader for the Diocese of Niagara, a lay chaplain in local seniors homes, as well as helping with a breakfast program in a local elementary school. Pam was a founding member and president of the Orangeville Concert Association, a director and chorister in many productions for the Orangeville Music Theatre and she chaired the steering committee to establish Theatre Orangeville, amongst many other community activities.
In 1995, Pam was recognized as Woman of the Year by Family Transition Place, and in 2000, Pam was installed into the Order of Niagara for her contributions to St. Paul’s, Shelburne.

Funeral Service will be held at St. Marks Anglican Church 5 First Ave. Orangeville, Ontario on Friday, May 17th, 2024 at 2:00 pm. with visitation beginning at 1:00 pm. Memorial donations to St. Mark's Anglican Church or the Orangeville Food Bank would be appreciated by the family.

A tree will be planted in memory of Pamela in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville. 22nd Annual Dedication Service will be held on Sunday, September 8, 2024 at 2:00 p.m.
