Dimapur Congress Committee (DCC) convened a press conference today, led by Kutoho Chishi, President DCC to address recent political scuffle in Parliament. NSUI President Chophika Sumi vehemently condemned the baseless allegations leveled against Rahul Gandhi by Phangnon Konyak, calling them inappropriate and lacking evidence. The Congress also voiced its opposition to the BJP's push for "One Nation, One Election," warning that it is a first step towards dictatorship. The party raised questions about the silence of Nagaland's Rajya Sabha MP on the Oting massacre, and also criticized the BJYM for protesting outside the DCC property. Runith Dmellow, National Coordinator AICC and Minority Incharge for Nagaland, questioned both central and state BJP leaders about the actual development they have brought to the people of Nagaland. He said that instead of focusing on the progress of the state, the BJP has been spending crores of rupees to defame the image of Rahul Gandhi. Dmellow pointed out that if the BJP leaders had genuine intentions to bring about positive change, they could have done so, but chose not to, highlighting the party's misplaced priorities. In addition, they condemned the assault on youth at Thahekhu and urged for immediate action.
