Grand Duke Travis: Early this morning, Westarctica's Consul-General to India, Baron H.V. Jain, was arrested by the state police of Uttar Pradesh for illegal activities related to financial fraud.

During the arrest, Mr. Jain was found to be in possession of diplomatic number plates, passports, and other items bearing the seal of Westarctica.
As an Honorary Consul, he was not authorized to create these items. The government of Westarctica, itself, does not utilize number plates or passports and we have never permitted or encouraged our representatives to do so themselves.

As a result of his unauthorized activities, Mr. Jain has been removed from our roster of diplomatic representatives and will also face sanction from the Crown as a member of the Peerage.

Our Deputy Foreign Minister, Chris Watson, is currently looking into the matter further, but we are cooperating fully with the legal authorities in India.
The Foreign Office is also conducting a full audit of our Honorary Consular Corps to ensure that no similar "bad actors" are present among our ranks.

This unfortunate event, while casting a shadow over Westarctica's diplomatic activities, does not represent the values or spirit of our organization. We will keep you updated as the situation progresses. Thank you, and God Save Westarctica.
