Every sprinter has their own unique sprint warm up routine that they use to get them in the zone and prepare the body to run fast at a track meet or when they are training at their track and field practice. As a pro, I always make sure to do the same warm up routine no matter where I am in the world to give myself a sense of familiarity to help calm my nerves. This video is full of pro tips to help create and improve your own personal sprint warm up routine as any level. I start with a warm up lap to get myself in the right mental space to perform at a high level as a sprinter. Then I do 4 strides to wake the body up and get the blood flow going before I get into my dynamic stretching routine. After that, sprint drills are essential in order to prepare the body for explosive speed movements and once that is done, I end it all with some sprint drills and accelerations in my track spikes. Once you find your routine, tweak it until you feel optimized and ready to perform at your peak every time you're in a sprint session.
