Easy Method for Legit Side-Chaining in FL Studio Mobile (not auto-ducking or manual automation)

Описание к видео Easy Method for Legit Side-Chaining in FL Studio Mobile (not auto-ducking or manual automation)

Say you wanna give your kick more room to breathe by temporarily lowering your bass's volume every time a kick drum hits, but FLM doesn't currently support proper side-chain compression. So how do you do it?

The known alternatives are using the Autoduck feature (which ducks the sound independently of the input level) or setting up tedious manual volume automation, neither of which automatically ducks the the level of one sound in response to the level of another.

In this video, we demonstrate a simple workaround that combines FLM's channel routing settings with the FX Limiter to mimic a compressor with a side-chain input. Also, one can use this setup with a (multiband) compressor to obtain finer control over attack times, ratios and particular frequency bands to be processed. Though this procedure is not proper side-chaining per se, it yields a nearly identical effect, giving you more control over your mix.
