Hi Lovelies! Let’s dive into Art Goals! I’ll share a few of mine in this video & expand on these in videos to come throughout the year.. . One of the things I’ve been loving is interlacing botanical illustration {or graphite/pencil value studies} with a more avant-garde Fauvist approach {bold, unnatural colors, vivid brushstrokes, etc}

Every year I also take kind of inventory of supplies I’m using, should I change palettes etc so we look at how I upgrade a pencil palette to include more useful pencils

I also like to take at least one color each year and try and figure out how to incorporate it into my current palette, last years standout was buff titanium, this year I’m looking at Malachite {luminance} greenish blue {Neocolor ii}

We’ll also look at architectural watercolors in a video soon!

Lara Gastinger on Instagram, she does a live on Monday mornings & has a patreon for her Perpetual Nature Journal.. . The idea is that you mark pages for each week of the year { I only make pages for every month since I just can’t get to it weekly} & then you can keep the book for 5 or 6 years and go back to the same week every year to add in extra flowers/foliage or branches from that week. Her journals are amazing!

Strawberry Ice Cream Recipe

1 Punnet Strawberries
Just over 1/2 Cup Heavy Whipping Cream
1/3 Cup Skim Milk Powder
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
1 1/2 tsp Rose Syrup

We used a Kitchen Aid handheld mixer to whip cream,
Then add all other ingredients & whip til smooth.
Place in freezer for half an hour.
Remove & reblend mixture. Repeat twice.
Enjoy!
