Created by Herb Welch in 1927 on the Mooselookmaguntic Lake in Maine, the Black Ghost has been an effective pattern for almost a hundred years.

Hook: #2-10, 5-7x long streamer
Thread: Black
Tail: Yellow hackle fibers
Rib: Flat silver tinsel
Body: Black floss
Throat: Yellow hackle fibers
Wing: Four white saddle hackle feathers
Cheeks: Jungle cock (optional)
