With the current world number one, two, and three in the BWF mixed doubles category all occupied by players representing China, it made us wonder why Chinese mixed doubles badminton players are so dominant. Zheng Si Wei and Huang Ya Qiong are arguably the greatest mixed doubles pair of all-time not to mention other stars like Huang Dong Ping and rising players such as Jiang Zhen Bang, Wei Ya Xin, and Zhang Chi. After spending hours watching and analyzing their gameplay, there are a few things we noticed that separated Chinese players from other nations' players. Today, we're going to look at why Chinese mixed doubles badminton players are so dominant and potential learnings to help ourselves improve our mixed doubles badminton tactics.
