Episode 37 of the Kilauea Eruption at Halema'uma'u was dearest to my heart! Fountaining may have only occurred at one vent this time and didn't reach over 1000' like some of the other spectacular episodes, but the time I spent communing with nature and the connection that resulted will forever be etched lovingly and beautifully in my heart.

With the window for the next fountaining episode of the ongoing Kilauea Eruption opening tomorrow (predictions per USGS summit inflation models suggest December 6-10 as of HVO's Wednesday night update), here's a look at some footage from Episode 37 on the afternoon and night of November 25th. The crowds seemed to reach a new level, with so many clamoring to get a view, which made shooting a little more challenging this time. The heat shimmer also got me with a few of the tighter shots,but I think they are still beautiful, almost mirage-like. Also, the noise from some of the high ISO shots is obvious, but I threw them in for the interesting (to me anyway;) context.

Each one of Pele's manifestations during this eruptive cycle has been so unique. Really looking forward to seeing what the next fountaining episode 38 brings.
