This is the second part of the series testing Muse Sounds.

In this video, I use the first movement of Mozart's 24th piano concerto in C minor to test the new orchestral and piano sounds.

Note: This score was made partly during the beta and the initial full release of Musescore (4.0.0).

Some notes:
1) Once again, the lack of manual velocity adjustments is the biggest issue. It's incredibly difficult to achieve a consistent sound with the current dynamics system and leads to lots of awkward moments.
2) Single staff dynamic changes also haven't been implemented yet, which means the left and right hands of the piano don't have dynamic independence (bass line smothers the melody at times).
3) Articulations, especially for the strings, is alright, but not perfect. The strings have a tendency to come in delayed due to their legato style playback. It leads to great moments like the beginning of the concerto. However, when paired with other instruments, especially the more percussive sound of the piano, it results in moments where the instruments aren't synced up. In addition to that, there's issues with staccatos being significantly louder than non-legato notes. There are a few work arounds, like adding accents to string notes to make the attack sharper, but it is incredibly tedious.
4) However, the new tremolos for the strings are incredible. Instead of sounding like machine gun repetitions of the notes, it sounds far more crisp and realistic.

Overall, I think Muse Sounds, even during its initial release, is one of the best free playback engines. With more updates having come out since then, Muse Sounds has improved, but many of the issues noted here still remain.
