Описание к видео What is a Philosopher? - Plato's Cave Allegory, Zhuangzi's Butterfly Dream (Intro to Philosophy)

So what is a philosopher? How might a philosophy course change you and your life for the better? In this lecture, Professor Galindo explores what it means to be a philosopher by reviewing Plato's Allegory of the Cave and Zhuangzi's Butterfly Dream. Plato was an ancient Greek philosopher and the most famous student of the father of Western philosophy, Socrates. Plato's Cave Allegory often serves as the introduction to many courses in philosophy. Zhuangzi was an ancient Chinese philosopher most often associated with Taoism. Zhuangzi's Butterfly Dream explores similar themes as those of Plato's famous allegory. This is from Professor Galindo's Introduction to Philosophy college course.
