The Prelude conversion used the existing radiator fan for keeping the motor and inverter cool, but it never ran while the car was charging (the coolant loop took in all three components). It's just as well, because the fan only ever ran at full power - on or off.
Since the CRX conversion is going to have 22 kW of onboard AC charging, and a somewhat hotted up Nissan Leaf motor, it will need some decent cooling, especially when parked up and charging at full welly.
So these PWM controllers I bought of FleaBay seem to do the trick. A thermistor set up in a voltage divider will keep watch on the temperature of the radiator (and AC condenser) which adjusts the speed of the fan accordingly. It should be nice and quiet even at these high charge rates.
