Testing NVIDIA Tesla powered GPU compatibility in the Dell PowerEdge R520 and discussing caveats

Описание к видео Testing NVIDIA Tesla powered GPU compatibility in the Dell PowerEdge R520 and discussing caveats

So I figured it would work but I wanted to verify NVIDIA Tesla compatibility in the Dell PowerEdge R520 server. There are some caveats to keep in mind. You will need a dual CPU config, riser 1 DXX7K, riser 2 model T44HM, redundant power supplies (for GPU power connector), fan 6, and the power cable. If you already have a dual CPU config you should have that covered. I have not tested a single CPU config as that would require modification of the x4 riser slot.

Cooling should be adequate if you don't mind running hot. Otherwise modifying the fan shroud will be necessary. Overall worked as expected and will be another model to add to the list of verified servers.

Also minor correction the Tesla M40 has a 250W max TDP. I was thinking of the slot + riser power limit on the R720/R730 which is 300W.
